Soils - Determination of the Coefficient of Permeability by the Lefranc Method
This national standard specifies the test method used to determine the coefficient of permeability of the soil around a cavity (a “lantern”) created under the end of a drill casing driven by ramming, a test method particularly suited to soils with a coefficient of permeability greater than 10-7 m/s. Specifically, the standard deals with five main elements:
- apparatus and installation method;
- choosing a test method;
- procedure (constant head test and falling or rising head test);
- calculating and expressing the results (constant head test and falling or rising head test);
- test report.
