Standard BNQ 3624-250
Unplasticized Poly(Vinyl Chloride) [PVC-U] Pipe and Fittings - Rigid Pipe for Pressurized Water Supply and Distribution
This standard specifies the characteristics and test methods applicable to unplasticized poly(vinyl) chloride (PVC-U) socket ended pipe and injection moulded elastomeric gasketed fittings having nominal diameters of between 100 and 1500 mm, for use in drinking water systems and designed for pressurized water supply and distribution. These pipes and fittings may also be used in sewage backsiphonage systems.
Although this standard also concerns non-socket ended pipes assembled by fusion of the pipe ends on site, it does not specify such pipe assembly. This standard also provides information concerning pipe classifications and designations, pipe and fitting testing, quality control as well as marking and handling methods.
This standard does not apply to oriented poly(vinyl) chloride [PVC-O] pipe.
