The Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ) is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) as a standards development organization. This accreditation guarantees compliance with the requirements established by not only the SCC but also the ISO and the WTO, making it an international calibre organization, and the only one representing of Québec that is qualified to meet those requirements and to develop standards accordingly.
The rules pertaining to the development of the BNQ’s standards are set out in detail in its document BNQ 9950-099 Consensus Standards – Development and Maintenance Process.
