Standard ASTM F2881 Specification for 12 to 60 in. [300 to 1500 mm] Polypropylene (PP) Dual Wall Pipe and Fittings for Non-Pressure Storm Sewer Applications
Municipalities always have strict requirements when it comes to the quality of the storm sewer pipe supplied to them. To establish specific requirements, particularly for dual wall polypropylene (PP) pipe and fittings, ASTM International developed the ASTM F2881 standard. This standard establishes test methods and requirements to ensure the quality of the manufactured product. These requirements are designed to provide pipe and fittings suitable for underground use for non-pressure storm sewer systems. The standard concerns pipe and fittings with an interior smooth wall and an annular corrugated profile outer wall. The nominal inside diameters covered are 300 to 1500 mm [12 to 60 in.].
BNQ certification of polypropylene (PP) dual wall pipe and fittings to ASTM F2881 enables manufacturers to confirm the quality of their products for the benefit of clients. Accordingly, clients are not required to inspect the companies, reassured by the knowledge that third-party certification guarantees an impartial process. Manufacturers interested in obtaining recognition that their pipe conforms to ASTM F2881 must submit a certification application to the BNQ and show that they meet the requirements of the BNQ certification program.
