Standard AWWA C301
Prestressed Concrete Pressure Pipe, Steel-Cylinder Type
AWWA pipe standards are widely used by pipe manufacturers in North America. The AWWA C301 standard specifically covers the manufacture of prestressed concrete pressure pipe with steel-cylinder and wire reinforcement in sizes 16 in. (410 mm) through 144 in. (3 660 mm). Larger sizes have been manufactured based on the concepts presented in this standard. Note that the standard does not cover the design of prestressed concrete pipes.

Certification Offer
Manufacturers of prestressed concrete pressure pipes with steel-cylinder and wire reinforcement have the advantage of being able to have the BNQ recognize their pipes as meeting the AWWA C301 standard. The certification process for this standard is simple, but rigorous. To certify their products, manufacturers must submit an application for certification to the BNQ and be able to demonstrate that they meet the requirements of the BNQ certification program.
