Television Inspection of Sewer Pipes and Manholes
Underground municipal sewer systems may be subject to periodic inspections to assess their state. The BNQ 3680-125 standardized technical specification sets out the technical specifications for television inspection and proposes two different methods for inspecting sewer pipes and manholes. The method that uses a telephoto camera makes it possible to quickly obtain a preliminary assessment without shutting down the sewer. The method that uses a conventional camera makes it possible to obtain a detailed assessment of the structural and functional state of the system. With this method, the pipes must be cleaned beforehand, and Part 3 of the specification describes this work.
Television inspection is performed according to the requirements of the Pipeline Assessment and Certification Program (PACP) of the National Association of Sewer Services Contractors and the Centre for Expertise and Research on Infrastructures in Urban Areas (NASSCO-CERIU).
The document has been developed may be used by municipalities seeking bids from contractors that provide this service.
