Standard BNQ 7192-175
Flag of Quebec
Flag manufacturers and retailers know that flags must be manufactured in accordance with strict rules. Obviously, the same applies to the flag of Quebec, for which the BNQ has been assigned the task of developing the sole authoritative standard. This standard specifies the size, quality and construction requirements that apply to the flag of Quebec, or “Fleurdelisé,” as set out in the Act respecting the flag and emblems of Québec and the Regulation respecting the flag of Québec.
Quebec flag manufacturers may choose between two fabrics, one of which is better able to withstand Quebec’s harsh climate. For large outdoor flags, the manufacturers may include three eyelets, which will give the flag a more elegant appearance when it is flown.
Depending on its size and method of construction, the flag of Quebec described in this standard may be used to adorn furniture, a gallery, a room or any mast or flagpole inside or outside a building. It may also be used at certain public gatherings.
