Temporary Canvas Winter Shelters for Motor Vehicles
Standard BNQ 3910-700 Temporary winter fabric shelters for motor vehicles
In Québec, temporary fabric winter carports are commonly used to protect vehicles from winter weather. However, some of these shelters collapse under the weight of the snow, leading to sometimes fatal accidents. The purpose of this standard is to specify the design and manufacturing requirements for temporary fabric winter carports to ensure their suitability for use. Its primary aim is to prevent carports from collapsing and unfastening in order to keep people and property safe. It factors in the snow and wind loads specific to Québec.
